What Our Client Says
"Lisa [Johnson] has truly been a partner in the bigger picture of creating financial systems for our organization and has helped us figure out what we need to focus on to make things easier for next year’s audit.”
About Baltimore SquashWise
Founded in 2007, Baltimore SquashWise is a unique youth development nonprofit that combines academic tutoring and support with coaching in the sport of squash. The organization partners with Baltimore’s youth and families to advance equity in squash, education and personal development opportunities.
The Situation
When looking for a new audit firm, Executive Director Abby Markoe was referred to Gross Mendelsohn by one of our clients. Abby then connected with Lisa Johnson, a member of Gross Mendelsohn’s Nonprofit Group.
In Our Client's Words
“After just acquiring a new building to convert, we needed a thorough, detailed-oriented partner who was focused on the right things and would help us through our learning curves.
Lisa Johnson was exactly what we needed. She always clearly communicates what will happen next and explains the reasoning behind everything she does. Lisa is also extremely patient and is always willing to teach me about different requirements, best practices and things of that nature.
Lisa truly understands the constraints of being a small nonprofit, and even when things may get delayed on our end, she always makes sure things are done on time. Lisa has truly been a partner in the bigger picture of creating financial systems for our organization and has helped us figure out what we need to focus on to make things easier for next year’s audit.”
