What Our Client Says
"Tricia and Marie made me aware of what good accounting firms do for their clients.”

About B&B Welding Company, Inc.
B&B Welding began as a portable welding shop in 1971 and is now one of the most technologically advanced structural and miscellaneous fabricators in the Baltimore/Washington area.
The Situation
B&B Welding originally became a client in 2014 when they began working with Chris Haiss of our Technology Solutions Group. Their vice president, Dennis McCartney, met Chris at an event where she spoke about ComputerEase, a construction accounting software.
At the time, B&B Welding was using manual processes for their accounting and needed increased automation. Chris helped them implement the system, which greatly improved their productivity.
Fast forward to 2022. B&B Welding had been with the same accountant for 20 years when they were notified that they were being let go as a client. After being left high and dry, they reached out to Chris for help finding a new accountant. She pointed them in the direction of Tricia Thomas and Marie Calabrese for tax services.
B&B Welding was able to sort out their situation with Tricia and Marie’s assistance after receiving lackluster tax services from their previous accountant, which could have put their business at risk. B&B Welding is an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP), so Tricia and Marie provided them with the necessary guidance and evaluations for ESOPs. Additionally, they advised that B&B Welding convert to an S corporation to maximize tax savings.
In Our Client's Words
“With powerful accounting software, it’s easier to answer sophisticated accounting questions.
The service and the software keep us coming back to Gross Mendelsohn year after year. We’ve gotten a lot of benefit from that.
Chris has become more of a friend than a technology consultant. Something that started out as a business relationship turned into a true friendship.
Tricia and Marie made me aware of what good accounting firms do for their clients. They genuinely looked out for our business and future tax situation by advising us to convert to an S corp to save us money on our taxes.”
