The Daily Grace Co.

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL

This company has had experience with all angles of the firm — from tax to technology to wealth advisory — and relies on us to file their taxes each year.

What Our Client Says

"Gross Mendelsohn has reduced stress around tax compliance for us. I know that once I pass things off to Brian and Steve, I can trust that they’re doing it the right way. It helps me sleep better.”

The Situation

The Daily Grace Co. works with Brian Nichols and Steve Ball to file their business and personal taxes each year. They also receive support with tax strategy so they can take full advantage of deductions, making sure that they’re paying the lowest taxes possible.

They also manage a small nonprofit that our team files Form 990-PF for.

But The Daily Grace team knows their way around Gross Mendelsohn beyond the tax department. They also work with Michael Little at GGM Wealth Management on the corporate side of the business and investing the capital from their nonprofit.

As their president Jeremy Schmucker puts it, “You get in with the tax people, go over to the tech people and before you know it, you’re making money and talking to the wealth advisors.”

They previously worked with Chris Haiss of our Technology Solutions Group to evaluate a new ERP system. Although they did not go through with the software implementation, Jeremy had a positive experience working with Chris throughout the process.

“In all the conversations I had with Chris, she was very generous with her time. I always felt like Chris advocated for what was best for my business, not what was best for her revenue sales goals. Even given the fact that we didn’t move forward with the contract because our business needs had shifted, we never felt like Chris’s concern was the loss of revenue — her concern was for my business and if that means cancelling the contract, that’s what she wanted to do. I didn’t feel like I was being sold. I felt like I had an advocate in Chris.”

In Our Client's Words

“Brian’s knowledge of the tax code is key. Anytime my internal controller and I are having a debate about whether something is GAAP compliant or if there’s a tax issue, I always say ‘Just email Brian. He’ll know what to do.’

He is highly efficient at responding to communication. For example, I replied to him late with information he needed. In 15 minutes, he replied with two more follow up questions. He’s good about communication, which I appreciate.

Gross Mendelsohn has reduced stress around tax compliance for us. I know that once I pass things off to Brian and Steve, I can trust that they’re doing it the right way. It helps me sleep better.”
