New Grant Program for Maryland Manufacturers Now Open for Applications

By: Kevin Connelly

Applications are now open for Maryland manufacturers to apply for the Commercial, Industrial & Agricultural Fiscal Year 2024 Grant Program. This program supports businesses that make certain energy efficiency improvements in manufacturing facilities.

In this short video, we explain the grant, who qualifies and the application process.

More About the Grant

The grant program is intended to help defray the cost of improvements resulting in energy performance that exceeds current codes or standards.

The minimum grant award is $50,000. The maximum grant award is $400,000. The state has $4.4 million allocated for this grant.

According to the Maryland Energy Administration, which administers the grant, “the Commercial, Industrial & Agricultural Fiscal Year 2024 Grant Program incentivizes investments that reduce energy waste and, where applicable, displace fossil-fuel use in Maryland-based commercial, industrial, and agricultural facilities. For manufacturing and agricultural activities, eligible investments represent equipment that consumes less energy to perform intended work, thus reducing costs per unit or per hour, both currently and as production levels grow.”

Application Deadline

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until funding is fully awarded or until Friday, March 22, 2024 ― whichever occurs first.

Grants are offered on a first come, first served basis, so get your applications in as soon as possible.
